SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Frank T. Panno of Pontiac, who passed away on June 14, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Frank Panno was born in Streator to Andrew and Dorothy Perschnick Panno on November 21, 1929; he graduated from Streator High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1953; he married Mary Geraldyn Ralph in Odell on October 25, 1952; and

WHEREAS, Frank Panno worked as a real estate broker and owned and operated Panno Realty in Pontiac for 53 years; he co-founded the Livingston County Board of Realtors; he was the Pontiac Area Chamber of Commerce Small Business Person of the Year in 1993 and the Livingston County Board of Realtors Realtor of the Year in 1997; he received the Realtors Emeritus Award in 2017; and

WHEREAS, Frank Panno was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Pontiac Elks Club, and the Moose Lodge; he served on the Pontiac City Council for over 56 years and holds the state record for the longest serving alderman in Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Frank Panno was an incredibly loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; his family was his pride and joy, and he loved spending time with them; and

WHEREAS, Frank Panno was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his sons, Peter, Paul, and John Panno; and his sister, Jean Panno; and

WHEREAS, Frank Panno is survived by his daughters, Sally (Michael) Aarons, Gina Panno, Lisa (Patrick) Martin, Amy Panno, and Gerry (Tom) Wheeler; his daughters-in-law, Renee Panno, Mary Panno, and Sue Trainor; his grandchildren, Sam Aarons, Nick Panno, Joe Panno, Sara (Marty) Walsh, Michael Panno, Paul Panno, Mark (Courtney) Panno, Maggie (Cal) Clark, Jane (Nate) Anderson, Peter Martin, Anna Walker, and Lucy Walker; his great-grandchildren, Corinne Walsh, Mira Walsh, Owen Walsh, Jack Walsh, Ben Panno, and Henry Panno; his brothers and sisters, Chuck Panno, Fred Panno, Nancy Eden, Michael Panno, Marcia Allen, David Panno, Andy Panno, Joe Panno, and Sam Panno; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Frank T. Panno and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frank Panno as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
