SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Stanley Finka of Lake County, who passed away on December 12, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Stanley Finka was born in Poland to Andrew Finka and Anna Finka on April 16, 1922; he fought with the British Army during WWII against Germany; he came to the U.S. soon after the war; he married Helena Khayat in 1975; and

WHEREAS, Stanley Finka was a manager at the Basler Corporation; he and his wife became general contractors; together, they built over 40 single family homes and 2 commercial buildings in Lake County; and

WHEREAS, Stanley Finka was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Helena Khayat Finka; his daughter, Jeanette Donahue; his grandsons, James Michael Khayat and Marshall Michael Khayat; his parents, Andrew Finka and Anna Finka; and his sister, Sophie Rok; and

WHEREAS, Stanley Finka is survived by his children, Anna Wilson, Miranda Reeder, Christian Khayat, Mary Bennett, Lenny Khayat, Mark Khayat, and their spouses; his 14 grandchildren; his 25 great-grandchildren; his nephew, Wactaw (Alicja) Rok; and his nephew's son, Arthur Rok; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Stanley Finka and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Stanley Finka as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
