SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joann Mary Perkowski of Waukegan, who passed away on May 19, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Joann Perkowski was born to Pauline and Elmer Link in Waukegan on August 28, 1939; and

WHEREAS, Joann Perkowski was a proud member of the Our Lady of Humility church family; and

WHEREAS, In retirement, Joann Perkowski enjoyed sewing, quilting, playing bingo, shopping, reading, watching game shows and soap operas, and spending time with her family and friends; most of all, she loved her grandchildren and wanted to be a part of their every event and activity; and

WHEREAS, Joann Perkowski was preceded in death by her brother, Ed Link; her parents; and her father in law, Raymond Perkowski; and

WHEREAS, Joann Perkowski is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Harold "Perky" Perkowski; her children, Tracee (James) and Kari (Mike, Ethan, Eli, and Evan Scandiff); her siblings, John (Diane) Link and Terry (Susie) Link; her extended family, Barbara Secketa, Lynne Grosch, Celeste Pregracke, and Karen Goodwin; her many nieces and nephews; and her lifelong friends, Theresa Anderko, Sharon Bower, and Pat Poirier; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Joann Mary Perkowski and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joann Perkowski as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
