SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John M. Schwarberg of Springfield, who
4passed away on September 12, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Schwarberg was born in Springfield to John
6and Josephine (Combs) Schwarberg on July 20, 1932; he was a
7resident of Springfield his entire life; he served in the U.S.
8Army during the Korean Conflict; he earned his master's degree
9from the University of Illinois at Springfield; he married Rita
10Cartwright on January 10, 1953, and she preceded him in death
11on December 8, 1982; and
 
12    WHEREAS, John Schwarberg served as an auditor and
13accountant for the State of Illinois for nearly 30 years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, John Schwarberg was a member of the First United
15Methodist Church; he was an enthusiastic fan of the Cardinals,
16the Bears, Lanphier High School, and the University of
17Illinois; he was also an avid golfer and hit two holes-in-one;
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, John Schwarberg was preceded in death by his
20parents; his wife; his brother, Robert Schwarberg; and his
21sister-in-law, Karen Schwarberg; and

1    WHEREAS, John Schwarberg is survived by his son, John E.
2(Kristine) Schwarberg; his brother, Chris (Sue) Schwarberg;
3his special friend, Eileen Lopossa; his nephew, Brian (Sara)
4Schwarberg; and his niece, Erin (Jeremy) Fenelon; therefore, be
5it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8John M. Schwarberg and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of John Schwarberg as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
