SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John M. Schwarberg of Springfield, who passed away on September 12, 2020; and

WHEREAS, John Schwarberg was born in Springfield to John and Josephine (Combs) Schwarberg on July 20, 1932; he was a resident of Springfield his entire life; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict; he earned his master's degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield; he married Rita Cartwright on January 10, 1953, and she preceded him in death on December 8, 1982; and

WHEREAS, John Schwarberg served as an auditor and accountant for the State of Illinois for nearly 30 years; and

WHEREAS, John Schwarberg was a member of the First United Methodist Church; he was an enthusiastic fan of the Cardinals, the Bears, Lanphier High School, and the University of Illinois; he was also an avid golfer and hit two holes-in-one; and

WHEREAS, John Schwarberg was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his brother, Robert Schwarberg; and his sister-in-law, Karen Schwarberg; and

WHEREAS, John Schwarberg is survived by his son, John E. (Kristine) Schwarberg; his brother, Chris (Sue) Schwarberg; his special friend, Eileen Lopossa; his nephew, Brian (Sara) Schwarberg; and his niece, Erin (Jeremy) Fenelon; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John M. Schwarberg and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Schwarberg as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
