SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard "Rich" L. Gravitt of Coal Valley, who passed away on September 16, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Rich Gravitt was born to Arthur and Marie (Hinkel) Gravitt in Rock Island on September 2, 1937; he served in the U.S. Army; he married Patricia Houghtaling on February 27, 1960; and

WHEREAS, Rich Gravitt worked at John Deere until his retirement on May 1, 1996; and

WHEREAS, Rich Gravitt enjoyed classic cars and trucks; he loved his family, and they were everything to him; and

WHEREAS, Rich Gravitt is survived by his wife; his children, Jeff (Jan) Gravitt, Cathy Gravitt, and James (Candice) Gravitt; his grandchildren, Krystle, Michael, Grant, Hailey, and Greyson; his great-grandchildren, Olivia, Dominic, Lily, and Ryan; and his sisters, Marge (Jerry) Maddox, Sandy (Donny) Metzner, and Jan (Dick) Seibert; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard "Rich" Gravitt and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rich Gravitt as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
