SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Wayne Robert Blette of East Moline, who passed away on October 19, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Blette was born in Worcester, Massachusetts to Robert and Frances Curtis on November 25, 1955; during the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Navy as part of Operation Eagle Pull and Operation Frequent Wind; he married MaryEllen DePorter in Jamaica on September 11, 1993; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Blette was a payroll technician at the Rock Island Arsenal; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Blette was a member of the St. Anne Catholic Church; he loved music and was an excellent guitar player; he was a St. Louis Cardinals fan; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Blette was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Wayne Blette is survived by his wife of 27 years, MaryEllen; his sister, Gayle Scott; his brother, Stephen Blette; his wife's family; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Wayne Robert Blette and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Wayne Blette as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
