SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert "Bob" Henry Mitchell of East Moline, who passed away on October 29, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Bob Mitchell was born to Edward and Edna (Crabtree) Mitchell in Farmer City on February 27, 1922; he served in the U.S. Army during World War II; he married Mabel G. Nicholson in Moline on August 25, 1952; and

WHEREAS, Bob Mitchell worked as a supervisor of buildings and grounds for the Moline School District #40 for many years; and

WHEREAS, Bob Mitchell was a member of Moline American Legion Post #246 and Moline VFW Chapter #2153; and

WHEREAS, Bob Mitchell enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and helping others with home repairs; and

WHEREAS, Bob Mitchell was preceded in death by his wife; his son and daughters-in-law, Rodger (Joyce) Vergane and Linda Vergane; his grandson, Robert Vergane; his four brothers; and his sister; and

WHEREAS, Bob is survived by his son, Steve Vergane; his six grandchildren; his eight great-grandchildren; his 13 great-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Laverne Whisman; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert "Bob" Henry Mitchell and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bob Mitchell as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
