SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mary Agnes Browne, who passed away on August 21, 2020 at the age of 97; and

WHEREAS, Mary Agnes Browne was born on October 16, 1922 and spent most of her life in Oak Park; she was a community leader and loving mother; and

WHEREAS, Mary Agnes Browne was a leading community volunteer; she was a member of the local school's PTA, the Nineteenth Century Club, the Women's Guild at the First Presbyterian Church, the Infant Welfare Society, the American Cancer Society, the Oak Park and River Forest Day Nursery, the Oak Park Country Club, Phi Sigma, and others; and

WHEREAS, Mary Agnes Browne was married to the late William Browne; and

WHEREAS, Mary Agnes Browne was the mother of Meredith Upward, Carolyn Brown, J. Danforth Browne, and Nancy Browne; the devoted grandmother of Benjamin, Andrew, Stephen, Michael, Lauren, and Quinn; and the great-grandmother of Gavin and Ryan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mary Agnes Browne and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Agnes Browne as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
