SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Scott M. Bundy of Bloomington, who passed away on August 28, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Scott Bundy was born in Bloomington to Michael and Ruby Bryant Bundy on September 9, 1977; he served in the U.S. Army National Guard and married Shana K. Bushert in Jamaica on November 3, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Scott Bundy worked for the McLean County Highway Department as a sign foreman; and

WHEREAS, Scott Bundy was generous with his time and talents; he co-hosted an annual golf outing for 14 years, which provided thousands of dollars for local charities such as The Baby Fold, Habitat for Humanity, the Special Olympics, the Boys and Girls Club, and Easter Seals; and

WHEREAS, Scott Bundy's greatest joys in life were his friends and family; he had a big heart and was always available to help a friend; one of his greatest talents was his ability to bring people together; he was the quintessential family man and immersed himself in every aspect of his children's lives and couldn't help but pass along his love for Star Wars and Marvel Comics; from being a high school football star to a marathon-running adult, he was a gifted athlete and delighted in challenging himself; and

WHEREAS, Scott Bundy was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Amy McCubbins, Michelle Lee, and Melissa Sue Bundy; his paternal grandparents, George and Marjorie (Scott) Bundy; and his maternal grandparents, Norvel and Loretta Bryant; and

WHEREAS, Scott Bundy is survived by his wife, Shana; his children, Blake, Kaylee, and Peyton; his nephews, Brady and Presley McCubbins; his nieces, Meranda and Mackenzie McCubbins; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Scott M. Bundy and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Scott Bundy as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
