SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Doris Pack-Clemons; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Doris Pack-Clemons was born in Chicago to Joseph
5and Margaret Pack on October 26, 1928; she attended Raymond
6Elementary School, Wendell Phillips High School, and
7Kennedy-King College; she was baptized as a child and attended
8Progressive Baptist Church; she married Walter Mack Clemons;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, As a young woman, Doris Pack-Clemons was employed
11with Nabisco; for many years, she served as a supervisor
12nutritionist with Chicago Public Schools, where she received
13numerous recognitions; upon her retirement, she operated
14Clemons Daycare Center until she was in her late 70s; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Doris Pack-Clemons was a life-long believer in the
16principles of metaphysics; she was an active member of Aloe
17International; she served for many years as an election judge
18and was a committee member for her homeowner's association in
19Olympia Fields; she enjoyed traveling, dancing, music,
20cooking, gardening, cards, bowling, board games, soap operas,
21plays, movies, books, amusement parks, and the Ice Capades; and

1    WHEREAS, Doris Pack-Clemons was preceded in death by her
2husband, Walter; her son, Don "Donny" Edward; her grandmother,
3Almita; her parents; her sisters, Dorothy, Lorraine (Edson),
4and Christine (William); her great-grandson, James; her
5nephews, Edwin, Brent, and Arthur III; her cousins, Walter,
6Ernst, Ellen, Lance, Diane, and Leontyne; her best friends,
7Mattie Mae, Janine, and Claudia; and her god-daughters, Janice
8and Cathy; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Doris Pack-Clemons is survived by her daughter,
10Carmen Julia Lynn (Daniel) Goodman; her son, Walter Mboya; her
11grandchildren, Deidre, Devona Luna, Deona "Dee", and Duncan;
12her great-grandchildren, Mason and Miah; her siblings,
13Josephine "Josie" (Arthur II), Joseph Jr., and Alma "Al"; her
14nieces, Saundra, Pat, Debbie, Tiffany, and Julia; her nephews,
15Lamont, Eric, and James; her cousins, Llona and Ellen; her
16sister-in-law, Julia Cambridge; her god-daughter, Kim; her
17life-long friends, Mrs. Foote, Mag, and Bobbie; her housemate,
18Weezie; her beloved, Shih Coco; and an abundance of relatives
19and friends; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
21ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
22Doris Pack-Clemons and extend our sincere condolences to her
23family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
24further

1    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2presented to the family of Doris Pack-Clemons as an expression
3of our deepest sympathy.
