SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Carol Joy Cunningham of Northbrook, who passed away on December 24, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Carol Cunningham received her Master's in Education from the University of Missouri; she served as a Congressional staffer for Congressman John Porter, 10th District, for seven years; she then worked for the Social Security Administration for 11 years; and

WHEREAS, Carol Cunningham served for ten years on the Northbrook School District 28 School Board and was President of the Northfield Township Board of School Trustees for 15 years; she was also a professional artist and photographer; and

WHEREAS, Carol Cunningham is survived by her husband of 50 years, William Cunningham; sons, David (Magan) and Eric Cunningham; grandchildren, Jackson Cunningham and Connor Cunningham; sister, Susan Askew Stewart; brother, Willard Askew; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Carol Joy Cunningham and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Carol Joy Cunningham as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
