 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2489

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 2489 on page  1  by
 3    replacing lines 8 through 15 with the following:
 4        "Sec.  13-519.  Fire  alarm;  discontinuance  of service.
 5    When a telecommunications carrier initiates a  discontinuance
 6    of  service  on a known emergency system or fire alarm system
 7    that is required by the local authority  to  be  a  dedicated
 8    phone  line  circuit  to  the  central  dispatch  of the fire
 9    department or fire protection district or, if applicable, the
10    police department, the telecommunications carrier shall  also
11    transmit  a  copy  of the written notice of discontinuance to
12    that local authority.".
