    Amends the Counties Code. Authorizes the county board of any county, by ordinance, to eliminate or reduce the use of open burning as a method of brush removal. Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning counties.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Counties Code is amended  by adding Section 
5
5-1029.5 as follows:

    (55 ILCS 5/5-1029.5 new)

    Sec. 5-1029.5. Elimination or reduction of open burning.

The county board of any county may by ordinance eliminate or 
9
reduce the use of open burning as a method of brush removal.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
11
becoming law.
