 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of  Representatives  of
 3    the   State  of  Illinois  are  pleased  to  honor  the  27th
 4    recipients of the Salute To  Industry  Award,  given  by  the
 5    Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce; and

 6        WHEREAS,  The  Salute  To  Industry  Award  honors Joliet
 7    Chamber  of  Commerce  members  who  have  longevity  in  the
 8    community; are active participants in the community;  support
 9    social   agencies,   educational  institutions,  and  special
10    causes; contribute significantly to the economic life of  the
11    community;  are  providers  of  quality  jobs;  and  are good
12    community citizens; and

13        WHEREAS, The recipients of the Salute to  Industry  Award
14    for  2003  are  Bill  Jacobs; D'Arcy Automobiles; Gregg Motor
15    Sales, Inc.; Honda of Joliet; Joliet Dodge, Inc.;  Mark  Bass
16    Nissan Subaru, Inc.; Rendel's GMC; and Saturn of Joliet; and

17        WHEREAS,  Together,  these dealers provided the following
18    as support to Joliet and the State in  2002:  560  employees;
19    14,324  vehicles  sold;  $326 million in total vehicle sales;
20    $20 million in sales tax; $425,000 in property tax; and  over
21    $225,000   in   direct   contributions  supporting  community
22    organizations; therefore, be it

23        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
24    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
25    we congratulate the winners of the Joliet Chamber of Commerce
26    Salute to Industry Award; and be it further

27        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
28    presented  to  the  Joliet Chamber of Commerce and to each of
29    the award winning businesses with our best wishes  for  their
30    continued success.
