 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of  Representatives  of
 3    the  State of Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of
 4    Robert Thomas Buchanan on May 8, 2003; and

 5        WHEREAS, Robert Thomas Buchanan was born on December  29,
 6    1947 in Chicago to Alneta Buchanan; he graduated from Wendell
 7    Phillips  High  School and attended Loop Business College for
 8    business management; and

 9        WHEREAS, Mr. Buchanan worked for  F.W.  Woolworth  for  a
10    number  of  years  before his 23-year career with the Chicago
11    Transit Authority; he was a Mason; and

12        WHEREAS, The passing of Robert Thomas Buchanan  has  been
13    deeply  felt  by all who knew him, especially his wife, JoAnn
14    Buchanan; his sons, Robert Buchanan, Jr. and Jason  Buchanan;
15    his  daughter, Alnita Buchanan; his grandchildren, Dante' and
16    Jonathan Buchanan;  his  sisters,  Alice  Buchanan,  Savannah
17    (Samuel)  Jackson,  and  Alneta  Long;  his brothers, Theodus
18    Buchanan and James  Peck;  his  stepbrothers,  Gregory  Peck,
19    Sergio  Thomas,  and  Felton McKenzie; his stepfather, Felton
20    Peck; and a host of relatives and friends; therefore, be it

21        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
22    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
23    we mourn the passing of Robert Thomas  Buchanan  and  express
24    our  sincere  and deepest sympathy to his family and friends;
25    and be it further

26        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
27    presented  to  the  family  of  Robert  Thomas Buchanan as an
28    expression  of  our  condolences   during   their   time   of
29    bereavement.
