 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  are pleased to recognize milestone events in
 4    the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and

 5        WHEREAS, Stuart Ferst has made positive contributions  to
 6    the  lives  of  thousands  of people with disabilities in the
 7    State of Illinois over the course of five decades; and

 8        WHEREAS, Stuart Ferst has vigorously advocated on  behalf
 9    of  Anixter  Center  and  its  clients for the past 34 years,
10    including 20 years as President and CEO; and

11        WHEREAS, Stuart Ferst extended  the  mission  of  Anixter
12    Center  to  give people with disabilities a powerful voice in
13    Springfield through a Government Action Committee as well  as
14    employee and client government action committees; and

15        WHEREAS,  Stuart  Ferst  has taken a leadership role as a
16    board member of his State association  and  for  the  past  3
17    years  by  leading a regional provider group called the Metro
18    Chicago Human Service Coalition; and

19        WHEREAS, Stuart Ferst has been honored several times over
20    for his contributions to social services in Illinois, and  is
21    known throughout the Chicagoland non-profit world; and

22        WHEREAS,  Stuart Ferst has been a devoted father, husband
23    and grandfather who is quick to show pictures of loved  ones;
24    and

25        WHEREAS,  Stuart  Ferst has an endearing personality that
26    leaves a memorable impression on those he encounters; and

27        WHEREAS, Stuart Ferst loathes bottled  water  and  abhors
28    physical exercise; and

29        WHEREAS,  Stuart  Ferst has dedicated much of his life to

 1    the ideals of  inclusion  and  empowerment  for  people  with
 2    disabilities  and  is now entering into retirement; therefore
 3    be it

 4        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
 5    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
 6    we express our thanks  to  Stuart  Ferst  for  his  years  of
 7    accomplishment  serving people with disabilities and wish him
 8    the best of luck in his retirement; and be it further

 9        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
10    presented to Stuart Ferst as an expression of our esteem.
