 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members of the House of  Representatives  of
 3    the  State  of Illinois wish to recognize Mrs. Linda Duby for
 4    her  outstanding  contributions  on  behalf  of  the   senior
 5    citizens of St. Anne; and

 6        WHEREAS,  Mrs.  Duby was the youngest of 8 children, born
 7    to Henry and Roslee LaMontagne; she was  a  victim  of  polio
 8    prior  to  the  discovery of a vaccine and has fought through
 9    adversity for most of her life;  she  was  Kankakee  County's
10    March  of  Dimes  Poster  Girl  until  she  was 12 years old;
11    through  surgery  at  Shriner's  Hospital  in  Chicago,   her
12    situation was much improved; and

13        WHEREAS,  Mrs.  Duby is the mother of two sons, Shawn and
14    Shane, and one daughter, Dawn;  she  and  her  husband,  Gene
15    Duby,  have  a farm which she helps to keep running smoothly;
16    and

17        WHEREAS, Mrs. Duby is the executive director of Concerned
18    Action for the Elderly (C.A.F.E.), which is  an  organization
19    dedicated  to  serve  the  senior citizens of the greater St.
20    Anne community; one of  Mrs.  Duby's  goals  was  to  provide
21    affordable housing to seniors, allowing them to remain in St.
22    Anne when they could no longer maintain their homes; and

23        WHEREAS,  Through  the hard work of Mrs. Duby, ground was
24    broken for Northlake Villa, a 12-unit senior citizen complex,
25    which will be located on the north side  of  St.  Anne;  Mrs.
26    Duby also serves as the executive director of St. Anne Senior
27    Housing  Limited  Parnership  and  is the project manager for
28    Northlake Villa; therefore, be it

29        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
30    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
31    we thank Mrs. Linda Duby for her efforts  on  behalf  of  the

 2        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
 3    presented to Mrs.  Duby  as  an  expression  of  our  sincere
 4    respect and esteem.
