 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives wish to recognize Grace Boomgarden of Watseka
 4    for her many years of exemplary public service; and

 5        WHEREAS,  Ms. Boomgarden has been an active member of her
 6    community through two local organizations  for  decades;  she
 7    has  been  a  member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.)
 8    for 40 years and has been a  precinct  committeeman  for  the
 9    Iroquois County Democrats since 1979; and

10        WHEREAS,   Ms.   Boomgarden   joined  the  V.F.W.  Ladies
11    Auxiliary because her brother was a Prisoner of  War  in  the
12    Battle  of  the  Bulge;  she  enjoys her involvement with the
13    auxiliary because  of  the  help  she  is  able  to  give  to
14    servicemen and veterans; and

15        WHEREAS,   Her   involvement  with  the  Iroquois  County
16    Democrats began when she was  approached  to  be  a  precinct
17    committeeman; in 1984, she became the secretary and treasurer
18    for  the  Iroquois  County  Democrats;  she also works on the
19    fundraisers, the spring brunch, and the  Oktoberfest  dinner;
20    and

21        WHEREAS, Ms. Boomgarden's legacy of community involvement
22    will  long  inspire the citizens of this State; therefore, be
23    it

24        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
25    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26    we thank Grace Boomgarden for many years of dedication to her
27    community and wish her well in all of her  future  endeavors;
28    and be it further

29        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
30    presented to Grace Boomgarden as an expression of our respect
31    and esteem.
