AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4828

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4828 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Section 5. The Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act is amended by adding Section 1.4 as follows:

(50 ILCS 105/1.4 new)

Sec. 1.4. County board member. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, during his or her term of office, no county board member elected to a term commencing on or after January 1, 2015 may hold any other elected office of a unit of local government.

For purposes of this Section, "elected office of a unit of local government" means any elected office of any unit of local government entitled to receive remuneration and to participate in a pension plan.".

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.".
