HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are deeply saddened to learn of the death of
4Lombard Village President William "Bill" J. Mueller, who died
5on August 18, 2012; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Bill Mueller was raised in Lombard by his parents,
7Joseph and Dolorosa (nee Muldoon); he married Eileen Rogers;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bill Mueller served as village president since
101993, having begun his fifth consecutive term in May of 2009;
11he was the longest serving village president in Lombard's
12history; he was a veteran of the Illinois National Guard; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bill Mueller began his political career in the
14late 1950's as a member of the Village of Lombard's Safety
15Committee and the Lombard Youth Commission; he was District
16Trustee from 1975 to 1979 and served as Chairman of the Public
17Works Committee as well as Chairman of the DuPage Community
18Development Commission; he was president of the DuPage Mayors
19and Managers Conference and Co-Chairman of the Glenbard
20Wastewater Authority; he was a member of the Lombard Chamber of
21Commerce and Industry Eagle Club; he served on the boards and
22committees of many local groups, such as the YMCA, St. Pius X

1School and Church, Cub Scouts and was the president of the
2Lombard Chamber of Commerce; he was a former Lombard Man of the
3Year; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Bill Mueller opened the Bill Mueller Insurance
5Agency in 1965; he retired from American Family Insurance in
62005; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Bill Mueller was preceded in death by his nephew,
8Joe Harrington; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bill Mueller is survived by his wife, Eileen (nee
10Rogers); his daughters, Debbie (Keith) Rapata, and Donna (Mark)
11Fruehe; his grandchildren, K.J., Stephen, Mikey, and Ashley;
12his brother, Thomas M. (Jane); his nieces and nephews, Mike
13(Jenny) Mueller, Jim Mueller, Chris Williams, Cheryl (Jim)
14Maynard, Don Wesolowicz, Sandy Wesolowicz, Mike, Mary, Kelly,
15and Ann Harrington; his sister-in-laws, Carol (Don)
16Wesolowicz, Lucille Rogers, and Mary Harrington; his
17brother-in-law, Francis (Rose) Rogers; his special cousin, Ann
18Ahern; and many other relatives and friends; therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
21we mourn the passing of Bill Mueller, and we extend our sincere
22condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved

3presented to the family of Bill Mueller as an expression of our
