HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jeffrey "Jeff" Hofmann of Springfield, who passed away on April 17, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Jeff Hofmann was born on June 24, 1952, in Saint Louis, Missouri, to Frank and Maureen Hofmann; he married Mary Supranowich on June 9, 1978, in Saint Louis; and

WHEREAS, Jeff Hofmann earned his bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Missouri in Saint Louis and began his broadcasting career in Cape Girardeau, Missouri; he worked in the Belleville area before moving to Springfield in 1981 and worked for 1450 WCVS until 1990; he worked for United Cerebral Palsy Land of Lincoln for a number of years before returning to Sports Radio 1450, and had been with them since 1998; and

WHEREAS, Jeff Hofmann served as news director and was a part of the "AM Springfield" program at Sport Radio 1450; and

WHEREAS, Jeff Hofmann was preceded in death by his father; and

WHEREAS, Jeff Hofmann is survived by his wife, Mary; his daughter, Kate Hofmann; his mother, Maureen Hofmann; his siblings, Karen (Frank) Judge, Kathy (Frank) Burson, Jim Hofmann, and Jack (Mary) Hofmann; his brothers-in-law, Ken Supranowich and Tim (Donna) Supranowich; his sisters-in-law, Barb Shreckengost and Ann (Bob) Canavan; and numerous nephews and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jeff Hofmann, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jeff Hofmann as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
