AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5197

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5197, AS AMENDED, with reference to page and line numbers of Senate Amendment No. 2, on page 4, line 1, by replacing "position of battalion chief" with "career service rank of battalion chief or field chief"; and

on page 4, by replacing lines 5 and 6 with the following:

"(4) does not exceed the maximum age set forth in the ordinances of the City of Chicago that"; and

on page 4, by replacing lines 12 through 20 with the following:

"(f) The City of Chicago may not regulate the advisory board in a manner inconsistent with this Section or regulate appointments of fire chiefs or paramedic chiefs in the Chicago Fire Department in a manner inconsistent with this Section. This Section is a limitation under subsection (i) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution on the concurrent exercise by home rule units of powers and functions exercised by the State."; and

on page 8, line 16, by replacing "Act" with "subsection".
