1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5832
2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5832 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:

4     "Section 5. The Rivers, Lakes, and Streams Act is amended
5 by adding Section 40 as follows:

6     (615 ILCS 5/40 new)
7     Sec. 40. Dock safety.
8     (a) A person who places or causes to be placed in any
9 river, lake, or stream a dock shall equip the dock with
10 reflector tape, or any other reflective material or equipment,
11 in such a manner that it can be seen by an approaching boat.
12     (b) A person who violates this Section commits a petty
13 offense punishable by a fine of not more than $100. A person
14 who violates this Section and the violation results in injury
15 or death of another person commits a Class A misdemeanor.".
