HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The State Bank of Geneva was founded on July 2,
31903 and has diligently served the residents of Geneva and Kane
4County for 115 years; and
 
5    WHEREAS, The State Bank of Geneva has been an active member
6of the Community Bankers Association of Illinois for over 30
7years, contributing to our state's largest trade association
8dedicated solely to the community banking profession; and
 
9    WHEREAS, The State Bank of Geneva is a locally owned
10community bank and is committed to helping residents and
11businesses build prosperity and forge lasting relationships
12through teamwork, respect, and integrity; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Former Illinois Treasurer Oscar Nelson served as
14President of The State Bank of Geneva before being elected to
15statewide office in 1922 and later being elected State Auditor
16in 1924 and 1928; and
 
17    WHEREAS, While some banks have focused on building
18branches, The State Bank of Geneva is committed to the
19community banking mission of building deep and lasting roots in
20the community; and

1    WHEREAS, The State Bank of Geneva is committed to hiring
2local employees, helping local businesses grow, supporting
3community sports teams and charity events, and putting their
4neighbors first; and
 
5    WHEREAS, The State Bank of Geneva ensures that the money
6their clients invest with the bank stays in Kane County to help
7their neighbors achieve their dreams and to help the community
8thrive; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
10HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
11congratulate The State Bank of Geneva, led by President
12Christopher Barton, on their 115th anniversary, and we commend
13their contributions to the economic vitality of the City of
14Geneva and their continuing dedication to fulfilling the
15community banking needs of the citizens in Kane County; we wish
16them many more wonderful years; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to The State Bank of Geneva as an expression of our
19esteem and respect.
