SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
35 ILCS 200/8-60 new

    Amends the Property Tax Code. Provides that the Department of Revenue, with the assistance of the Office of Appraisals, shall maintain a database of all appraisals introduced as evidence in hearings before the Property Tax Appeal Board or the board of review. Provides that the database must be searchable by certain specified parameters. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning revenue.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Property Tax Code is amended by adding
5Section 8-60 as follows:
 
6    (35 ILCS 200/8-60 new)
7    Sec. 8-60. Appraisal database. The Department, with the
8assistance of the Office of Appraisals, shall maintain a
9database of all appraisals introduced as evidence in hearings
10before the Property Tax Appeal Board or the board of review.
11The Department shall provide access to the database to any
12taxing body that has been notified that an appeal is to be
13taken before the Property Tax Appeal Board or the board of
14review. At minimum, the database shall be searchable by the
15following parameters, to the extent those parameters are
16applicable to the property:
17        (1) the owner name;
18        (2) the street address of the property;
19        (3) the property index number, parcel number, or
20    permanent index number;
21        (4) the name of the subdivision in which the property
22    is located;
23        (5) the classification of the property;

1        (6) the date the property was last sold, transferred,
2    or conveyed;
3        (7) the date of the appraisal report;
4        (8) the appraiser identification number;
5        (9) the year of the original construction of any
6    improvements; and
7        (10) the square footage of any improvements.
8    The Department shall maintain the record of each appraisal
9entered into evidence for a period of not less than 3 years
10from the date resolution is reached on the appeal of the
11subject property's valuation.
 
12    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
13becoming law.
