| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Lillian E. Oberwise Tesch, who passed | 4 | | away on December 27, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lillian Tesch was born in Marengo to Luke J. | 6 | | Oberwise Sr. and Ruth M. Fleming Oberwise on May 10, 1922; she | 7 | | graduated from Marengo High School and enrolled in the teacher | 8 | | education program at Northern Illinois University; she married | 9 | | Lyle F. Tesch on June 4, 1946; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Lillian Tesch began her teaching career at the Oak | 11 | | Grove and Stone's Corner Schools, which were one-room schools | 12 | | with grades first through eighth; she then taught second grade | 13 | | at Capron Grade school for 31 years; she was a dedicated | 14 | | teacher who encouraged a love of learning in her students; in | 15 | | retirement, she enjoyed helping struggling students find | 16 | | success; she also enjoyed helping her friends at their catering | 17 | | business; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Lillian Tesch was a dedicated and devoted wife, | 19 | | mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt; she loved | 20 | | her family, especially traveling with her daughter and her | 21 | | family; one of the highlights of her family life was when she | 22 | | and Lyle served as honorary parents at her nephew's wedding; |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Lillian Tesch was preceded in death by her | 3 | | husband, Lyle; her parents; her brother, Luke Oberwise Jr.; and | 4 | | her two cousins who were raised by her parents, Leona Baker | 5 | | Green and Bernard Baker; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Lillian Tesch is survived by her daughter, Midge; | 7 | | her grandchildren, Jessica, Gina (Dorian), and Evan | 8 | | (Kourtney); her great-grandson, Dylan; her nieces, Bonnie | 9 | | Tesch Potyk, Connie Tesch Smith, and Michelle Oberwise Lacock | 10 | | and their families; and her nephews, Tom Lordan and Mike | 11 | | Oberwise and their families; therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | Lillian E. Oberwise Tesch and extend our sincere condolences to | 15 | | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 16 | | further
