SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rabbi Barry N. Robinson of Chicago, who
4passed away on September 12, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rabbi Robinson served as a computer programmer, an
6adjunct professor at Northwestern University, and a Daf Yomi
7teacher; his encyclopedic breadth of understanding of Torah and
8Talmud, coupled with his depth of knowledge in general studies
9and clever ways of bringing energy into the classroom, inspired
10his students and helped him relate to them in ways other
11teachers did not; even through surgeries and illnesses, he
12continued to teach and inspire and never let anything get in
13the way of his students' learning; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Rabbi Robinson served as a teacher, mentor,
15advisor, and friend; he often came to class with Dunkin' Donuts
16or gave someone his credit card to pay for food for the whole
17class; his warmth, smile, sense of humor, and wit drew people
18to him; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Rabbi Robinson was the loving husband of Susan N.
20(Nathan) Robinson, the loving father of Miriam (the late Neal)
21Stein, Rabbi NeChamia (Miriam) Robinson, Aliza (Rabbi Yakov)
22Nadav, Rabbi Yakov (Azara) Robinson, and Rabbi Yehoshua

1(Danielle) Robinson, and the dear grandfather and
2great-grandfather of many; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Rabbi Barry N. Robinson and extend our sincere condolences to
6his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Rabbi Robinson as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
