HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of former
4United States Representative Daniel Bever Crane, who passed
5away on May 28, 2019; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Rep. Crane was born in Chicago on January 10,
71936; he attended Chicago Public Schools, Hillsdale College,
8and Indiana University; he did graduate work at the University
9of Michigan and from 1967 to 1970 served as a captain in the
10United States Army during the Vietnam War; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Rep. Crane served as a Republican member of the
12United States House of Representatives from 1979 to 1984; he
13represented the Illinois 19th Congressional District from 1983
14to 1984 and the Illinois 22nd Congressional District from 1979
15to 1982; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Rep. Crane established a dental practice in
17Danville before being elected and returned to that practice
18after his time in the U.S. House of Representatives; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Rep. Crane was preceded in death by his wife, Judy
20Crane, and his brother, U.S. Rep. Philip Crane; and

1    WHEREAS, Rep. Crane and his wife had six children;
2therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
4HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
5we mourn the passing of former United States Representative
6Daniel Bever Crane and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Rep. Crane as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
