SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, On January 12, 2019, at approximately 4:43 p.m.,
3Trooper Christopher Lambert #6527 was on the scene of a
4three-vehicle traffic crash in the left lane on I-294 near
5Willow Road; while he was handling that crash, another vehicle
6failed to stop and struck Trooper Lambert while he was outside
7of his patrol car; Trooper Lambert sustained serious injuries
8as a result of the crash; he was transported to Glenbrook
9Hospital and succumbed to his injuries at approximately 7:24
10p.m.; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Trooper Lambert began his career with the ISP on
12November 10, 2013 as part of Cadet Class 123; upon his
13graduation from the ISP Academy, he was assigned to District 15
14in Downers Grove; he had recently been assigned to District
1515's Criminal Patrol Team; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Throughout his career with the ISP, Trooper
17Lambert was recognized for his hard work, criminal interdiction
18efforts, and for being a rising leader amongst his peers; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Trooper Lambert exemplified the Illinois State
20Police's motto of Integrity, Service, Pride; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Trooper Lambert grew up in Dayton, Ohio, where he

1attended elementary and high school; he served honorably in the
2United States Army and Army Reserve for eight years; he loved
3Chicago Cubs baseball and was an avid fan of the Chicago
4Blackhawks; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Trooper Christopher Lambert is survived by his
6wife; his one-year-old daughter; and his parents; therefore, be
7it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
10CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate the section of I-294
11between mile marker 49.25 and 50 as the "ISP Trooper
12Christopher Lambert Memorial Highway"; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That the Illinois Tollway is requested to erect
14at suitable locations, consistent with State and federal
15regulations, appropriate plaques or signs giving notice of the
16name of "ISP Trooper Christopher Lambert Memorial Highway"; and
17be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Trooper Lambert and the Executive
20Director of the Illinois Tollway.
