SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lovie Lee Wilson, who passed away on
4March 25, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lovie Wilson was born in Coffeeville, Mississippi
6to Harrison and Addie Rounsaville on May 10, 1928; she attended
7school in Mississippi; she committed to her faith at an early
8age at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Morgan City, Mississippi and
9later joined Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in
10Coffeeville, Mississippi; she married Robert Harris, and he
11preceded her in death; she later moved to Chicago and married
12Willie Wilson, and he preceded her in death; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Lovie Wilson was the only beautician in
14Coffeeville, Mississippi; she later managed a laundry facility
15for many years and retired in 1983; and
 
16    WHEREAS, After moving to Chicago, Lovie Wilson joined the
17Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church; in 1985, she joined the Family
18Altar Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member and a
19dedicated bible class and Sunday school student and served as
20president of the Mother Board; she was an avid fan of the
21Chicago Cubs; she loved quartet singers and enjoyed working on
22crossword puzzles and playing solitaire; she was a dedicated

1mother who believed in education and hard work; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Lovie Wilson was preceded in death by her parents;
3her siblings; and her sons, Robert, Russell, and Randolph; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Lovie Wilson is survived by her daughter, Odessie
5Wilson; her daughters-in-law, Faye, Jolean, and Sherry; her 15
6grandchildren; her 10 great-grandchildren; her five
7great-great-grandchildren; and her many nieces, nephews,
8cousins, other relatives, and friends; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Lovie Lee Wilson and extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Lovie Wilson as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
