SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jean M. Geraci of Homewood, who passed away on March 1, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Jean Geraci was born to Hattie (Hein) Kazmin and John C. Kazmin on December 17, 1931; she formerly resided in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago; she married John Geraci, and he preceded her in death on December 20, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Jean Geraci was a 50-year parishioner of St. Kieran Church in Chicago Heights, where she served as a former lector; she was an active member of the St. Kieran Woman's Club and a member of the Homewood Sing-A-Lings Choral Group; and

WHEREAS, Jean Geraci was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John Geraci; her parents; her sister, Violet; and her sister-in-law, Sue Kazmin; and

WHEREAS, Jean Geraci is survived by her children, Roxane (James) Militello and John C. (Ann) Geraci; her grandchildren, Sarah (Bruce) Hrascinski, Casey (Megan) Ryan, Meghan (Tim Breen) Ryan, Seth Geraci, Hannah Geraci, and Sam Geraci; her great-grandchildren, Keeghan O'Reilly, Brooklyn Jean O'Reilly, Eisele Hrascinski, and Mila Hrascinski; her brother, John (late Sue) Kazmin; her many nieces and nephews; and her many friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jean M. Geraci and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jean Geraci as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
