SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gordon M. McCluskey of Lockport, who passed away on March 22, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Gordon McCluskey was born on July 13, 1935; he graduated from Lockport Township High School in 1953; he earned a degree in Civil Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology; he served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956; and

WHEREAS, Gordon McCluskey dedicated his life to public service; he retired as a Lockport City Administrator in 1996 after 28 years of service and then served as a Lockport Fire Department trustee and a trustee for Canal & Trails Credit Union; and

WHEREAS, Gordon McCluskey was a past member of the Lockport Moose Lodge 1557; he enjoyed golfing; and

WHEREAS, Gordon McCluskey was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Evelyn (Cochran) McCluskey; his brother, Roger (Judy) McCluskey; his brother, Gary McCluskey; his sister, Virginia Cashman; and his brother, Richard Whiting; and

WHEREAS, Gordon McCluskey is survived by his wife, Ruth McCluskey; his sons, Jeff McCluskey and Mark (Christine) McCluskey; his sisters, Linda (Jay) Malvin and Shirley (Keith) Casler; his sister-in-law, Carol (the late Gary) McCluskey; his grandchildren, Nick (Melissa) Seeman, Mitch McCluskey, and Max McCluskey; his great-grandchildren, Aniston and Gavin Seeman; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gordon M. McCluskey and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gordon McCluskey as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
