SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, Commonwealth Edison, an Exelon Company known as
3ComEd, is paying a $200 million dollar criminal fine as part of
4a federal investigation into a years-long bribery scheme in the
5State involving jobs, contracts, and payments; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The fine is deposited in the federal treasury, and
7the U.S. Congress has the ability to direct where those funds
8are sent; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we urge the U.S.
11Congress to return the $200 million dollar fine to the ComEd
12ratepayers in Illinois either through direct payments to
13ratepayers or by directing the funds to the Illinois Commerce
14Commission for distribution to ratepayers; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
16delivered to the U.S. Senate Majority Leader, the U.S. Senate
17Minority Leader, the U.S. Speaker of the House, the U.S. House
18of Representatives Minority Leader, and all members of the
19Illinois Congressional Delegation.
