SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of John W. Whitmire of Colona, who passed 
4away on September 15, 2021; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, John Whitmire was born to William and Nina Godwin 
6Whitmire in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas on August 22, 1944; he 
7served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era; he married Jane 
8Schweitzer in Rock Island on September 5, 1971; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, John Whitmire retired from John Deere Foundry in 
101993; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, John Whitmire was a song leader at Full Gospel 
12Church of God in Silvis for several years; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, John Whitmire was an avid NASCAR and Jeff Gordon 
14fan; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, John Whitmire was preceded in death by his 
16parents; his son, David; and his siblings, Grant, Millard, 
17Melvin, James, Louise Hoggard, and Betty Williams; and
 
18    WHEREAS, John Whitmire is survived by his wife; his 
19children, Robert (Tina) Whitmire, Steven Whitmire, and

1Christie (Kevin) Parrish; his 11 grandchildren; his 21 
2great-grandchildren;  and his siblings, Alfred and Pauline 
3Livingston; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6John W. Whitmire and extend our sincere condolences to his 
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of John Whitmire as an expression of 
11our deepest sympathy.
