SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
    Authorizes the Director of Corrections to execute and deliver a quit claim deed for specified real property located in Will County to the City of Crest Hill upon the payment of $1, subject to specified conditions. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning property.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. Property. The Director of Corrections, on
5behalf of the State of Illinois, is authorized to execute and
6deliver to the City of Crest Hill, for and in consideration of
7$1 paid to the Department of Corrections, a quit claim deed to
8the following described real property:
 
9    That part of the East half of the Northeast quarter of
10    Section thirty two (32), lying North of the right of the
11    way of the Joliet, Aurora and Northern Railway Company,
12    now the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railway Company,
13    excepting therefrom a strip of land twenty four (24) feet
14    in width off the West side thereof, containing in said
15    tract hereby conveyed twenty five (25) acres, more or
16    less.
 
17    Section 10. Conveyance.
18    (a) Upon the payment of the sum of $1 to the Department of
19Corrections, and subject to the conditions set forth in
20subsection (b), the Director of Corrections, on behalf of the
21State of Illinois and the Department of Corrections, shall
22convey by quit claim deed all right, title, and interest of the

1State of Illinois and the Department of Corrections in and to
2the real property described in Section 5 to the City of Crest
3Hill.
4    (b) The conveyance of real property authorized by Section
55 shall be made subject to existing public utilities, existing
6public roads, and any and all reservations, easements,
7encumbrances, covenants, and restrictions of record.
8    (c) The quit claim deed to the City of Crest Hill shall
9state on its face and be subject to the conditions that the
10real property shall be used by the City of Crest Hill for a
11Lake Michigan water receiving station and other public
12purposes, and that if the real property is used for any other
13purposes, or if an attempt is made to sell the property, then
14title shall revert without further action to the State of
15Illinois.
 
16    Section 15. Recording. The Director of Corrections shall
17prepare one or more quit claim deeds to convey the real
18property. The Director may also record a certified copy of
19this Act. Each quit claim deed shall reference this Act and
20contain the reversionary language from subsection (c) of
21Section 10. All documents of conveyance shall be recorded in
22the county in which the land is located.
 
23    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
24becoming law.
