| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Chief Master Sergeant James R. "Bob" | 4 | | Flynn of Springfield, who passed away on June 4, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, CMSgt Flynn was born in Springfield to James T. | 6 | | and Helen (Barrett) Flynn in December of 1934; he graduated | 7 | | from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in 1952; he | 8 | | married Betty Wagner on November 30, 1963; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, CMSgt Flynn served in the Illinois Air National | 10 | | Guard as a member of the 183rd Tactical Fighter unit in | 11 | | Springfield; he retired as a Chief Master Sergeant after 37 | 12 | | years of service; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, CMSgt Flynn was devoted to his faith and was a | 14 | | member of St. Joseph's Parish in Springfield; he enjoyed | 15 | | bowling, playing pinochle with his friends, and watching | 16 | | sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals; he loved his dogs | 17 | | and bird; he was known for being quick with a joke or a witty | 18 | | retort; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, CMSgt Flynn is survived by his wife of 56 years, | 20 | | Bertha M. "Betty" Flynn; his children, Sheri (Brian) McMillan, | 21 | | Jeff Flynn, Monty (Priscilla) Flynn, Catherine (Mike) |
