| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Harold Axel "Hal" Markuson III of Panama | 4 | | City, Florida, who passed away on January 2, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Harold Markuson was born in Moline on July 2, 1942 | 6 | | to Harold Axel and Marguerite S.M. (nee Clark) Markuson II; he | 7 | | graduated from Moline High School in 1960; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Harold Markuson served in the United States Air | 9 | | Force for over 22 years as a photographer; upon retirement, he | 10 | | continued his service as superintendent of the Rock Island | 11 | | County Veteran Assistance Commission for more than 18 years; | 12 | | and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Harold Markuson was a member of Parker United | 14 | | Methodist Church and Calvary Lutheran Church of Moline, where | 15 | | he completed its Diakonia program; he also loved camping and | 16 | | was a camp host for 3 seasons with the KOA campground in Fort | 17 | | Collins, Colorado and one season with Light Train & RV Park in | 18 | | Silver Hill, Alabama; and | 19 | | WHEREAS, Harold Markuson married Siri on February 17, 1996; | 20 | | they moved to Panama City, Florida in 2014; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Harold Markuson was preceded in death by his | 2 | | parents and his brother, Hilding "Toby" Markuson; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Harold Markuson is survived by his wife, Siri; his | 4 | | son, Scott A. (Kalysha) Markuson; his daughters, Marlana (Joe) | 5 | | Richardson and Darcie (Mac) Moffitt; and his 6 grandchildren, | 6 | | Sagemond, Keegan, Gabriel, Benjamin, Rebecca, and Jaxson; | 7 | | therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Harold Axel "Hal" Markuson III, and extend our sincere | 11 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 12 | | him; and be it further
