| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Magdalen "Madge" Orth-Cerar of | 4 | | Carlinville, who passed away on February 10, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Madge Orth-Cerar was born in Bushton, Kansas to | 6 | | Henry and Margaret (Finnin) Orth on February 24, 1918; she | 7 | | graduated from Bushton High School and received her nursing | 8 | | degree from St. John's Hospital School of Nursing in Salina, | 9 | | Kansas; she married David Cerar at the Little Chapel in the | 10 | | Woods on the Norfolk, Virginia Navel Air Station on November | 11 | | 10, 1943; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Madge Orth-Cerar was the Director of Nursing at | 13 | | the old Macoupin County Nursing Home and a supervising nurse at | 14 | | the Carlinville Clinic and the old Carlinville Area Hospital; | 15 | | along with her husband, she owned and operated the Cerar Mink | 16 | | Ranch and the Carlin-Villa Motel; she was also the | 17 | | administrator for Lakeview Nursing Home; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Madge Orth-Cerar was a member of Saints Mary and | 19 | | Joseph Catholic Church; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Madge Orth-Cerar was preceded in death by her | 21 | | parents; her husband, Dave; her daughter, Jo-Dee; her brothers, |

| 1 | | John and Felix; and her sisters, Josephine, Nancy, Mary, | 2 | | Kathryn, and Louise; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Madge Orth-Cerar is survived by her son, Jon | 4 | | (Teri) Cerar; her daughter, Kathryn Cerar; and her grandsons, | 5 | | Josh and Dalton Cerar; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Magdalen "Madge" Orth-Cerar and extend our sincere condolences | 9 | | to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be | 10 | | it further
