SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marlies Perthel of Indian Head Park; and

WHEREAS, Marlies Perthel was a former executive secretary for Spiegel and Company; she was a former Assistant Clerk for the Village of Indian Head Park; she served with the Village of LaGrange as Secretary of the Building and Planning Department; she subsequently served as Building Commissioner and Village Manager of LaGrange for over 12 years; and

WHEREAS, Marlies Perthel was responsible for the creation of the Village Triangle, the parking deck, and the general beautification of LaGrange; and

WHEREAS, Marlies Perthel was the beloved daughter of Mina Meyers and the late Fritz Hutt; loving wife of Werner; devoted mother of Christopher (Jennifer) and Lisa (Edgar) Herrera; dear grandmother of Ethan and Sophie Herrera; fond aunt of many; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Marlies Perthel; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marlies Perthel as an expression of our sympathy.
