SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Walter J. Grygiel of Crystal Lake, who passed away on February 12, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Walter Grygiel was born in Chicago to Lawrence and Agatha (Jakubowicz) Grygiel on September 16, 1921; he served his country as an Aviation Cadet for the Navy with Army Military services from 1942 until 1946; and

WHEREAS, Walter Grygiel had a strong work ethic and retired as a lithographer at the age of 70; he was a creative and skilled craftsman with a passion for technology; and

WHEREAS, Walter Grygiel was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3880 Fourth Degree for St. Thomas Church in Crystal Lake; he served his church community by preparing the monthly newsletter for the Knights of Columbus; he had a lifelong interest in fishing, aviation, and astronomy; he found joy in music, sports, internet searches on topics of interest, and discussions about current politics; and

WHEREAS, Walter Grygiel was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine; and

WHEREAS, Walter Grygiel is survived by his son, Larry Grygiel; his daughter, Nancy (Harry) Reczek; and his granddaughters, Brooke Grygiel and Sarah (Cesar) Cardona; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Walter J. Grygiel and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Walter Grygiel as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
