SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Calvin Bland, who passed away on December 8, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Calvin Bland was born on July 6, 1948; he was educated at De La Salle High School; he then earned a bachelor of arts and a bachelor of science at Eastern New Mexico University; he also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at El Paso and attended Lewis University College of Law; he became a paralegal; and

WHEREAS, Calvin Bland loved chess and national wildlife; he was a member of the National Rifle Association; he was an avid traveler and went to London, Paris, Spain, Portugal, Amsterdam, Germany, the Bahamas, and many other places; and

WHEREAS, Calvin Bland is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Renee; his children; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; his sisters and brother; and his nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Calvin Bland and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Calvin Bland as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
