SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Brian A. Schackmann of Springfield, who passed away on January 27, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Brian Schackmann was born in Springfield to James Carl and Lois Newell Schackmann on June 12, 1961; he graduated from Springfield High School and attended Lincoln Land Community College and the University of Illinois at Springfield; he married Mary McDaid in Springfield on February 11, 1982; and

WHEREAS, Brian Schackmann served his community in many capacities through his employment and involvement in politics; he was most recently employed with the State of Illinois, Department of Financial and Professional Regulation; he was previously employed as a Liquor Inspector for Sangamon County; he was a lifelong Republican; and

WHEREAS, Brian Schackmann was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings and St. Louis Cardinals; he loved cooking Sunday dinners for his family and hosting for others; and

WHEREAS, Brian Schackmann was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James H. Schackmann; and

WHEREAS, Brian Schackmann is survived by his wife, Mary; his daughters, Jenny (Ryan) Vaughn, and Samantha Schackmann (Brandon Pettersen); his granddaughter, Zoey Vaughn; his sister, Linda Lowe; his aunt, Barb Farrand; one cousin; several nieces and nephews; and many friends that he considered family; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Brian A. Schackmann, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Brian Schackmann as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
