SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Brian A. Schackmann of Springfield, who
4passed away on January 27, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Brian Schackmann was born in Springfield to James
6Carl and Lois Newell Schackmann on June 12, 1961; he graduated
7from Springfield High School and attended Lincoln Land
8Community College and the University of Illinois at
9Springfield; he married Mary McDaid in Springfield on February
1011, 1982; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Brian Schackmann served his community in many
12capacities through his employment and involvement in politics;
13he was most recently employed with the State of Illinois,
14Department of Financial and Professional Regulation; he was
15previously employed as a Liquor Inspector for Sangamon County;
16he was a lifelong Republican; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Brian Schackmann was a fan of the Minnesota
18Vikings and St. Louis Cardinals; he loved cooking Sunday
19dinners for his family and hosting for others; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Brian Schackmann was preceded in death by his
21parents and his brother, James H. Schackmann; and

1    WHEREAS, Brian Schackmann is survived by his wife, Mary;
2his daughters, Jenny (Ryan) Vaughn, and Samantha Schackmann
3(Brandon Pettersen); his granddaughter, Zoey Vaughn; his
4sister, Linda Lowe; his aunt, Barb Farrand; one cousin; several
5nieces and nephews; and many friends that he considered family;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Brian A. Schackmann, and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Brian Schackmann as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
