SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert William "Bob" Piercy Sr. of
4Joliet, who passed away on February 13, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Piercy Sr. was born in Chicago on November
64, 1930; he graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology
7with a degree in chemical engineering; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Robert Piercy Sr. worked for Blockson, which later
9became the Olin Corporation; during his career with the
10company, he served as a Project Manager in Johannesburg, South
11Africa and was Head of Engineering for the Southwest Region in
12Lake Charles, Louisiana; he retired as Governmental Affairs
13Liason; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Robert Piercy Sr. was a man committed to his
15family and his church; he enjoyed playing the French Horn with
16the Joliet American Legion Band for many years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Robert Piercy Sr. was preceded in death by his
18son, Robert William Piercy Jr.; his granddaughter, Kathleen
19Piercy; and his parents; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Robert Piercy Sr. is survived by his wife of 65

1years, Rosemarie (Novak) Piercy; his children, Debbie (George)
2Shimek, Judy Piercy (Peter Jarjisian), Mary Ann Piercy, Tom
3(Sue) Piercy, and Patty (Dan) Cushing; his grandchildren, Jeff
4(Kalissa) Shimek, Terra (Tim) Fondriest, Megan (Mike) Kovach,
5and Collin, Erin, Emily, and Tommy Piercy; and his
6great-grandchildren, Amelia and Henry Fondriest, and Raegan
7Shimek; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Robert William "Bob" Piercy Sr., and extend our sincere
11condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
12him; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Robert Piercy Sr. as an expression
15of our deepest sympathy.
