Information maintained by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.

Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

    (30 ILCS 595/30)
Sec. 30. Farm-school database. The Department of Agriculture shall establish, and make available on its website, a geo-coded electronic database to facilitate the purchase of fresh produce and food products by schools. The database shall, at a minimum, contain the information necessary for (i) schools to identify and contact agricultural producers that are interested in supplying schools in the State with fresh produce and food products and (ii) agricultural producers of fresh produce and food products to identify schools in the State that are interested in purchasing those products. The Department of Agriculture shall adopt rules necessary to implement this Section. The Department of Agriculture shall also solicit federal and State funding for the purpose of implementing this program. The requirement of the Department to establish, and make available on its website, this database shall become effective once the Department has secured all of the additional federal or State funding necessary to implement this program.
