Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

    Sec. 6. The board of trustees shall exercise all of the powers and control the affairs and property of the district. The board at their first meeting in May of each year shall elect one of their number as president, one of their number as vice-president and one of their number as secretary. The board may appoint an engineer who may be an individual, co-partnership or corporation, an attorney, an executive vice-president, a manager, a treasurer, and other engineers, attorneys, agents, clerks and assistants for the district who shall hold office during the pleasure of the board and who shall give such bond as the board may require. The board may prescribe the duties and fix the compensation of all the officers and employees of the district. A member of the board may not receive more than $3,000 per annum. The board may pass all necessary ordinances, rules and regulations.

The board may appoint an engineer who may be an individual, co-partnership or corporation, an attorney, an executive vice-president, a manager, a treasurer, and other engineers, attorneys, agents, clerks and assistants for the district who shall hold office during the pleasure of the board and who shall give such bond as the board may require. The board may prescribe the duties and fix the compensation of all the officers and employees of the district. A member of the board may not receive more than $6,000 per annum. At the Board's discretion, the Board may adjust the compensation amounts for inflation as determined by the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers for all items published by the United States Department of Labor and rounded to the nearest $100. The Board members shall also be reimbursed for ordinary and necessary expenses incurred in performing the member's duties under this Act. The board may pass all necessary ordinances, rules and regulations.
