1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Public Aid Code by changing
2 Section 11-6.1
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
6 changing Section 11-6.1 as follows:
7 (305 ILCS 5/11-6.1) (from Ch. 23, par. 11-6.1)
8 Sec. 11-6.1. Identification card; report of loss.
9 (a) The Illinois Department shall issue an
10 identification card to every payee of a grant under this
11 Code.
12 (b) Within 180 days after the effective date of this
13 amendatory Act of 1990, the Illinois Department shall create
14 establish a program which provides for the electronic
15 transfer of funds to participating financial institutions.
16 The program shall provide for the safe, secure and convenient
17 redemption of benefits by any person entitled to receive
18 benefits under this Code.
19 (c) The payee of a grant under this Code shall
20 immediately report to the Illinois Department the theft or
21 other loss of any instrument used in making a grant payment.
