Amends the Illinois Guaranteed Job Opportunity Act.
Provides that the Director of Commerce and Community Affairs
(now Director of Labor) shall administer the Act. Effective
July 1, 1997.

1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Guaranteed Job Opportunity
2 Act by changing Section 10.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Guaranteed Job Opportunity Act
6 is amended by changing Section 10 as follows:
7 (20 ILCS 1510/10)
8 Sec. 10. Definitions. As used in this Act:
9 (a) "Participant" means an individual who is determined
10 to be eligible under Section 25.
11 (b) "Project" means the definable task or group of tasks
12 which:
13 (1) will be carried out by a public agency, a
14 private nonprofit organization, a private contractor, or
15 a cooperative,
16 (2) will meet the requirements of subsection (f) of
17 Section 35,
18 (3) will result in a specific product or
19 accomplishment, and
20 (4) would not otherwise be conducted with existing
21 funds.
22 (c) "Director" means the Director of Commerce and
23 Community Affairs Labor.

25 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July
26 1, 1997.
