1 AN ACT to amend the School Code by changing Section
2 10-23.6.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing
6 Section 10-23.6 as follows:
7 (105 ILCS 5/10-23.6) (from Ch. 122, par. 10-23.6)
8 Sec. 10-23.6. Sites out of district.
9 A school district, including any special charter school
10 district, having 100,000 or more inhabitants and maintaining
11 grades 1 through 12 may acquire a school site in any other
12 school district which does not maintain a recognized public
13 high school, provided that such site lies within 2 two miles
14 of the boundaries of such school district, and may build,
15 operate and maintain a school maintaining grades 9 through 12
16 upon any site so acquired, and for these purposes may borrow
17 money and issue bonds as otherwise provided by law and charge
18 and receive tuition for students attending said school from
19 any other school district, to the same effect as if said
20 school had been constructed within the boundaries of said
21 school district.
