1 AN ACT to amend the Workers' Compensation Act by changing
2 Section 26.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Workers' Compensation Act is amended by
6 changing Section 26 as follows:
7 (820 ILCS 305/26) (from Ch. 48, par. 138.26)
8 Sec. 26. Penalties; enforcement. Any wilful neglect,
9 refusal or failure to do the things required to be done by
10 any section, clause or provision of this Act, on the part of
11 the persons herein required to do them, or any violation of
12 any of the provisions or requirements hereof, or any attempt
13 to obstruct or interfere with any court officer, or any other
14 person charged with the duty of administering or enforcing
15 this Act, is a petty offense.
16 The Attorney General and the State's Attorney of each
17 county, upon the request of the Industrial Commission, shall
18 enforce any penalties set forth in this Act.
