          Amends the Adoption Act.  Makes  a  technical  change  in
      provisions regarding jurisdiction and venue.

 1        AN ACT to amend the Adoption Act by changing Section 4.
 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:
 4        Section 5.  The  Adoption  Act  is  amended  by  changing
 5    Section 4 as follows:
 6        (750 ILCS 50/4) (from Ch. 40, par. 1505)
 7        Sec. 4. Jurisdiction and venue.
 8        An  adoption  proceeding  may be commenced in the circuit
 9    court of the county  in  which  petitioners  reside,  or  the
10    county  in  which  the  person  to be adopted resides, or was
11    born, or the county in which the parents of the  such  person
12    reside,  provided,  however,  if  an  agency has acquired the
13    custody and control  of  a  child  and  the  such  agency  is
14    authorized  to consent to the adoption of the such child, the
15    proceeding may be  commenced  in  any  county,  and  provided
16    further  that  if  a guardian of the person of the such child
17    has been appointed by a court of competent jurisdiction,  the
18    proceeding may be commenced in any county.
